The Rise and Fall of Lord Macbeth is a fabulous one-act version of Macbeth suitable for KS2 and lower KS3 pupils.

The language has been slightly modernised but the original story, character names and essential themes are all intact. It provides young readers and performers with a powerful introduction to Shakespeare’s great tragedy and is brilliant for Shakespeare Week performances or workshops.

The script includes full production notes with ideas for staging, props, costumes and effects, plus great follow-on activities for further classroom work. Running time is approximately 40 minutes. Cast size 20, with opportunities to include additional non-speaking role.
